In Case You Missed It
Intel’s Meltdown & Spectre: Intel released last week that a major security flaw affects nearly every Intel CPU manufactured within the last 20 years. This vulnerability potentially allows an attacker to access data stored in memory, like data, passwords and other personal information. The good news is that there are currently no known active viruses exploiting this vulnerability.
Our team will communicate with clients as soon as each affected software vendor completes their remediation and provide a bulletin with an order to install patches using their normal automated tools.
HP Battery Recall & Replacement: HP has announced a worldwide voluntary safety recall and replacement program for certain notebook computer and mobile workstation batteries. Identified models of HP batteries have the potential to overheat and pose a fire or burn hazard to users.
Through this recall and replacement program, HP will provide a replacement battery for each affected battery at no cost. Click here to see if your device is affected and to process your replacement request.

Start 2018 Securely
The end of 2017 brought some unique security vulnerabilities to light.School districts in Wisconsin were on high alert after a targeted attack in December put an entire district’s technology out of commission for several days. Dubbed ‘Old School Thursday’ the day without technology was embraced with some humor, but the reality was that the school district had been totally debilitated by a single virus.
Take a proactive stance on security for your business in 2018. A security assessment will put your existing environment under the microscope. From critical software patching to inbound email malware, where are you most vulnerable for an attack?
